Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector Level 3 Award (PTLLS)

The course is delivered over four days, but additional private study time is required to plan and complete the set assignments.

This qualification meets the minimum standard for those entering teaching in the lifelong learning sector (post 16 education). Successful completion of the award will equip candidates with the knowledge and skills to develop and deliver programmes, provide learning support and manage the learning process.

Who is ‘Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector’ training designed for?

The course is designed for those who need the minimum threshold status as a teacher delivering training in the publicly funded sector, those entering teaching or training roles or already working in education or training.

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, candidates will need to demonstrate written and verbal communication skills sufficient to meet the assessment criteria for the qualification, up to date and relevant subject knowledge and a CRB if appropriate.

  • Current legislative requirements and codes of practice
  • Responsibilities and recording

To be successful the candidate must complete a total of six assessments including the planning and delivery of a 25 minute presentation.
