First Aid Certificate Re-qualification
It is recommended that qualified first aiders attend this course two to three months before their FAW certificate expires.
The 2-day course is designed to update and refresh, checking current knowledge and experience and also giving further theory and familiarisation with any new protocols that have been introduced.

• Airway management
• Burns and scalds management
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
• Eye injuries
• Fractures – injuries to muscles and joints
• Management of unconscious patient/fits and convulsions
• Medical emergencies
• Poisons
• Shock and fainting
• Wounds and bleeding
The course will include practical demonstration and individual participation.
Assessors will evaluate the competence of the candidate by observation of practical skills and assessment of knowledge. The candidate will be required to demonstrate competency in resuscitation, assisting an unconscious casualty, and assisting a conscious casualty with an injury.
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be awarded the First Aid at Work Certificate, valid for three years.
