Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
This one-day course gives a first-aider the knowledge and confidence to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill whilst at work.
The course covers:
- Role of the first aider
- Health & Safety
- Recording incidents
- Acting promptly and effectively in an emergency
- Provision of First Aid for minor injuries including; small cuts, grazes, bruises, minor burns & scalds & small splinters
- Cross infection
- The unconscious casualty.
- The non-breathing casualty
- The choking casualty
- A casualty in shock
The course will include practical demonstration and individual participation.
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be awarded a certificate valid for three years.
