Award in Responsible Alcohol Retailing

NOW BOOKING EVENING SESSIONS

This course provides essential training, meeting the requirement to demonstrate a commitment to provide responsible alcohol retailing. It will enable those who complete the qualification to act within the law supporting the designated premises supervisor.

The course covers:

*The nature of alcohol and the effect that it has on the human body
*The main issues in the 2003 Licensing Act as they relate to alcohol retailers and servers
*Licensing law in relation to the protection of children from harm
*The social responsibilities relating to the retail sale of alcohol
*How to recognise drunkenness, and your duty not to serve customers who are drunk
*Appropriate strategies that can be adopted to prevent or eliminate alcohol-related crime and conflict and the importance of personal safety

This level 1 award has been designed to be delivered in less than a day and includes a short multiple-choice examination.

The course concludes with an exam of 25 multiple-choice questions, three of which are compulsory. To pass candidates must answer correctly three compulsory questions in section one and 14 out of 22 in section two.

The training and examination for this qualification is available in two ways:
Candidates can attend a course at our training centre, followed by a paper-based examination
or
training can be delivered on-site, and take the examination using the telephone in a closely monitored environment.
