This course has been developed as an introduction to First Aid for those who work with children and babies. It is designed for individuals who may care for children, for example those who work in a childcare environment, but are not required to attend the two day course. The course is also suitable for babysitters and parents.
The one day (6 hour) syllabus has been developed to address the key paediatric First Aid topics.
Course content includes
- Rescue breaths and CPR (paediatric)
- Wounds and bleeding
- Sprains and fractures
- Choking, Asthma, Seizures
- Allergic reactions
- Head injury
- Poisonings, bites and stings
- Common childhood illnesses and conditions
Candidates are not formally assessed but will be issued with a certificate of attendance.
