Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

Hsh certificate of attendance.
Although the course is not accredited by the HSE, all hsh trainers are HSE accredited and approved.
Guided Learning Hours 3-4
A short course for First Aiders, who may be called upon to use an Automated Defibrillator. Delegates receive the knowledge and practical skills required to deal with an emergency situation effectively and competently. The programme is also suitable as a refresher course.
The course covers:
- Anatomy of the heart
- The chain of survival
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
- Safe use of the defibrillator
- Practical scenarios
- Incident recording & AED maintenance requirements
Assessment
Continuous assessment of competence throughout the course.
It is recommended that the certificate is updated annually.
